Right now, I am knitting Bernadette Lace Blouse, which I call "the never-ending story".
I wanted to knit a lacy t-shirt, which should be loose, with a boat neck. So, when I saw this design, I throwed myself into the void.
The pattern's directions are knitting flat, down-up, two T-sized pieces. Then these are sewn. I am knitting it in the round. Then, after casting on sleeves, turned to flat knitting. María gave me the idea: then, only neck and sleeves must be sewn.
I love the cotton yarn I am using, Katia Mississippi 3 in a vivid green colour. I guess it is going to turn out great. But it is a too much long project for me, maybe because of my impatience. I want to finish and wear it now! On the other hand, the pattern is not boring at all. There are several different pannels in drop stitch, garter and lace.
I hope I can speedy this up and finish it very soon. I'd like to finish it before beginning the KAL I told you about in the previous post... Let's see!
Merchyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14974683718078769110noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1668491831747575913.post-71836339010653715322012-06-12T16:29:00.000+02:002012-06-12T23:38:43.992+02:00KAL La Maison Bisoux

A otra cosa, mariposa.

And a year later... Ooops! Spectacular failure.
I have already told you here about my Corinne cardigan project I was knitting and which bored me awfully. Project was begun April 30 2011, exactly a year ago. After my gauge problems, which were controlled later, I decided to go on. I returned to it and stopped several times because of boredom. I continued with it thanks to the advice of my fellow knitters, who, same as me, are always willing to give one more opportunity to any knitting project. Praises about beautiful yarn and more well-intentioned advices encouraged me to go on, in spite of my doubts. I thank those who encouraged me to finish it. I did it last week! And this was a personal success, even though I didn't like the final result. Too loose, no shape.
I decided to hand-wash it, thinking I could block it. But what a surprise after washing! Yarn is super-mega-elastic, it won't block, and it seems like I've knit a fishing net. I promise. A fishing net.
So, after all the opportunities I have given the cardigan and myself, I must publicly declare my failure.
As soon as I get rid of this feeling, to the frog pond!
Go on... What next?
Merchyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14974683718078769110noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1668491831747575913.post-36126667410819663022012-04-11T20:20:00.001+02:002012-04-11T20:20:37.923+02:00Cosas que me apetece tejer/ Things I'd like to knit

It's been a while since I showed you some skeins for a new project, but didn't tell you what it was about... At Knitty Spring-Summer 2011 issue I discovered the Corinne cardigan. I fell in love with it immediately, I had to have it, so I bought some lovely skeins of Katia Caricia 100% merino wool in order to knit this. For me, it was one of those patterns that catch your eye!
It is knitted sideways, and it is shaped with short rows, so it has an interesting construction in my opinion. It is an easy pattern, garter stitch and short rows, the last I learnt at Knitting Help and some YouTube tutorials. I thought it would be an easy knit...
But then first problem arrived: Tension! I tend to knit loosely. For this project I made a gauge swatch and made adjustments, but after several rows the stitches were too loose again... Then I decided to frog and begin again. Second time was fine, but I noticed that, some days, tension was not correct. I reviewed my gauge, made some more gauge swatches, read about gauge in some places.... Conclusion: gauge depends on the day I have... I decided to go on knitting. The result has been rather uniform, I guess it is going to be fine after washing and blocking.
But then, second problem was there: Boredom! It was a never ending story to me, so much garter stitch, so I left it for some time. In October I picked it up again, but I couldn't resist the temptations of new interesting projects, so I put the project on ice again...
Some days ago I got back in the lane for the third time, and I am determined to finish it in one go. I've reached the second sleeve, only that and the second front part are left. I hope I am able to finish this cardigan at last, I want to wear it right away! What do you think?
Merchyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14974683718078769110noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1668491831747575913.post-7233953298313072562012-01-12T21:03:00.001+01:002012-01-12T21:03:35.310+01:00He ganado un sorteo! / I've won in a giveaway!

He ganado un sorteo!

I've won in a giveaway! The one that Jorunn had at her blog Jorunn's hobbyside. Jorunn is from Norway but she lives in Majorca, Spain. She is a crocheter and I have been following her for a while now. Make her a visit!
There were three different prizes at her giveaway, and I won the one I liked the most. I love it... First the book "Tasty Crochet", which has loads of amigurumi patterns for food.... Mmm yummyy!
In case this is not enough, she has also added three cotton skeins, in beautiful colours. Thanks a million Jorunn! I have loved everything.
By the way, please see again the shrugh I made for my sister's Blythe, now you can see how it looks on the doll. Thanks for the photo, sister! :)

Let me show you the woolen gifts that The Three Wise Men have left... Well, these are not for myself. Believe me, I must have been a good girl this year since I have had many gifts, however not woolen/knitted gifts! On the other hand, it has been a good gift to see other's faces when they received my knitted gifts...
My sister received a pair of fingerless mitts, 100% bulky wool. Pattern here. I guess she liked them, and since it is based on the mitts Alice Cullen wears in The Twilight Saga, she liked them even more. Even a friend of hers has asked me to knit another pair, since she liked them also.
I have also knitted a shrug for my sister's Blythe, it is a speedy knit, and with a nice result. Pattern here.
For my sister-in-law Azu I knitted a warm cowl, the Ariosa Broken Rib Cowl. It has been an easy knit, and has turned out beautiful. Wool is Katia Peru which contains Alpaca and has a lovely look. Although the right side was like in the first photo, I liked it more on the wrong side, and as it was reversible I gave them on this last side. I think the recipient liked it also, so she is happy, I am happy.
I have two knitted gifts yet to be given, but at present I cannot show them to you. In the next post perhaps...

Espero poder cumplirlo, no?
Feliz Año Nuevo a todos!

This year I have had periods of less or more crafting activity. Now I see I have made many things.
Mostly I have learned a lot about knitting. I hope to go on learning and improving my knitting.
However, my most important resolution for 2012 is... to be able to post on this blog more frequently. I hope I can accomplish this goal!
Happy New Year!
Merchyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14974683718078769110noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1668491831747575913.post-25945889312144498382011-12-29T20:20:00.001+01:002011-12-29T20:30:58.800+01:00Cladonia Shawl

Hi!
Today I am showing you the last shawl I have finished. In two colours, camel and red, and with a lace border. I love it and I wear it almost daily. I hope you like it too!

He hecho la versión pequeña, tamaño shawlette.

I have to show you some little things I've been doing lately.
One is Zucca's Shawl by Emma Fassio. I really enjoyed knitting it, since it was easy and fast knitting. I made the small version, shawlette size.
It is double-stranded, with two different yarns. First one is Katia Laine Nylon, the other Madil Yarns Kid Seta. Both in a creamy shade. I love the arrangement, since Katia is so comfortable and Kid Seta has that mohair look I love. That's why I have named it "Azúcar" (Sugar in Spanish).
I must say I wear it daily, it is so warm and it goes with everything! I hope you like it.
Those of you who are beginners like me, let me encorauge you to knit this pattern. It is much easier than it looks, and a good practice.

Long time no write!
In case anyone out there still wants to read this, today I would like to show you the last thing I've knitted. This is Saroyan, a surprise gift for my best friend. The project is called Follas, in Galician language it means leaves.
For my friend, any type of wool is itchy, even those for babies. So I have chosen this yarn with 54% cotton and 46% viscose rayon. I love the color and brightness of it. However is has been difficult to knit at times: slippy and splitted with the tip of the needles. So I had to knit very carefully.
I've done something thin, about 27 cm at its widest point and about 145 cm long. She's not so sensitive to cold so I think this will do well.
It has been slow to knit, I do not know why... The pattern was easy and the leaves part was fun to be done. I like the final result, particularly because of the smooth texture and brightness of this yarn.
I hope you like it!
