It's been a while since I showed you some skeins for a new project, but didn't tell you what it was about... At Knitty Spring-Summer 2011 issue I discovered the Corinne cardigan. I fell in love with it immediately, I had to have it, so I bought some lovely skeins of Katia Caricia 100% merino wool in order to knit this. For me, it was one of those patterns that catch your eye!
It is knitted sideways, and it is shaped with short rows, so it has an interesting construction in my opinion. It is an easy pattern, garter stitch and short rows, the last I learnt at Knitting Help and some YouTube tutorials. I thought it would be an easy knit...
But then first problem arrived: Tension! I tend to knit loosely. For this project I made a gauge swatch and made adjustments, but after several rows the stitches were too loose again... Then I decided to frog and begin again. Second time was fine, but I noticed that, some days, tension was not correct. I reviewed my gauge, made some more gauge swatches, read about gauge in some places.... Conclusion: gauge depends on the day I have... I decided to go on knitting. The result has been rather uniform, I guess it is going to be fine after washing and blocking.
But then, second problem was there: Boredom! It was a never ending story to me, so much garter stitch, so I left it for some time. In October I picked it up again, but I couldn't resist the temptations of new interesting projects, so I put the project on ice again...
Some days ago I got back in the lane for the third time, and I am determined to finish it in one go. I've reached the second sleeve, only that and the second front part are left. I hope I am able to finish this cardigan at last, I want to wear it right away! What do you think?

He ganado un sorteo! / I've won in a giveaway!

He ganado un sorteo!

I've won in a giveaway! The one that Jorunn had at her blog Jorunn's hobbyside. Jorunn is from Norway but she lives in Majorca, Spain. She is a crocheter and I have been following her for a while now. Make her a visit!
There were three different prizes at her giveaway, and I won the one I liked the most. I love it... First the book "Tasty Crochet", which has loads of amigurumi patterns for food.... Mmm yummyy!
In case this is not enough, she has also added three cotton skeins, in beautiful colours. Thanks a million Jorunn! I have loved everything.

Regalos de Reyes(I) /Gifts from the Three Wise Men(I)

Let me show you the woolen gifts that The Three Wise Men have left... Well, these are not for myself. Believe me, I must have been a good girl this year since I have had many gifts, however not woolen/knitted gifts! On the other hand, it has been a good gift to see other's faces when they received my knitted gifts...
My sister received a pair of fingerless mitts, 100% bulky wool. Pattern here. I guess she liked them, and since it is based on the mitts Alice Cullen wears in The Twilight Saga, she liked them even more. Even a friend of hers has asked me to knit another pair, since she liked them also.
I have also knitted a shrug for my sister's Blythe, it is a speedy knit, and with a nice result. Pattern here.
For my sister-in-law Azu I knitted a warm cowl, the Ariosa Broken Rib Cowl. It has been an easy knit, and has turned out beautiful. Wool is Katia Peru which contains Alpaca and has a lovely look. Although the right side was like in the first photo, I liked it more on the wrong side, and as it was reversible I gave them on this last side. I think the recipient liked it also, so she is happy, I am happy.
I have two knitted gifts yet to be given, but at present I cannot show them to you. In the next post perhaps...

Rápido! Fast!

I must knit fast, fast, fast! Only two days until The Three Wise Men arrive...
